Set FreeCommander as default file manager (Replace Explorer) and Reset as before. In Windows 7.

FreeCommander is a nice filemanager. You can google to get it. After install, to make this “FreeCommander” as default filemanager (replacing old default explorer), make a new reg file, for example “set.reg” and put the following, save & double click:

set.reg
################################################################

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell]
@=”FreeCommander”

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\FreeCommander]
@=”FreeCommander”

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\FreeCommander\command]
@=”\”C:\\Program Files\\FreeCommander XE\\FreeCommander.exe\” /C /L=\”%1\””

################################################################
Now, if needed, to get back to default old explorer, use the following “reset.reg”:

reset.reg
################################################################

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell]
@=””

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\FreeCommander]

##########################################################
Ok.
  • If you copy/paste, please save it in a notepad, after replacing the ” (Quote Mark) – wordpress uses different type of quote that does not work. Also remove the space before lines.
